A delightful twist on the classic peanut butter & banana sandwich, featuring toasted bread and gourmet toppings for extra texture and flavor.

I started making this upgraded version when I wanted a more exciting breakfast option. The addition of crunchy granola and sweet honey makes every bite extra special.

Ingredients

  • Bread: 4 slices whole grain or sourdough bread
  • Spread & Fruit: 4 tbsp natural peanut butter (smooth or crunchy), 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • Toppings: 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup, 2 tbsp chopped roasted peanuts, 2 tbsp granola, 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional), 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Toast Bread:
Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp.
Add Peanut Butter:
Spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter onto each slice while the bread is still warm.
Layer Banana:
Arrange banana slices evenly over two of the slices.
Drizzle Sweetener:
Drizzle each with honey or maple syrup.
Sprinkle Toppings:
Sprinkle chopped peanuts, granola, chia seeds (if using), cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt over the bananas.
Form Sandwiches:
